A community forum on safety was convened on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at The Mazer Theater at The Educational Alliance in New York City. The forum, held exactly one month after the library
incident, was created as a response to the sexual assault of a 9 year old girl in the local public library.
Over 30 different organizations camegathered to talk about ways to prevent and address crimes like these.
The team at Kaimen helped to identify, contact, email, and/or call the groups and corporate entities to issue this announcement. It also recruited organizations and
companies to support and/or sponsor this forum. Kaimen also developed a press alert and media list which include outlets which wrote about the library incident.
The Lo Down NY, an award-winning community blog, wrote an article before the event and also listed the event on its Facebook events page. Working closely with Seward Park Co-op and the 7th Precinct Community Council, Kaimen invited lo
cal and congressional officials. Many thanks to the presence and participation of:

The Forum also featured presentations and remarks made by representatives such as Rabbi Leonard Blank (the Director of Pastoral Services for the Bialystoker Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Executive Director of the Lower Manhattan Health Care Coalition and a representative from the United Jewish Council of East Side), as well as representatives from the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (video), Project Envision, Lower East Side Coalition which is part of the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault and from MenCanStopRape (video). Kaimen created a Twitter hashtag for the forum: #LESFORUM and then actively worked with the following groups to market the June 6 event publicly through Twitter and blog posts:
