WHAT:  Local foodies, food enthusiasts and visitors to NYC will have the opportunity to enjoy three-course, prix-fixe dinner menus from participating Chinatown restaurants at special pricing during this dining event.

WHEN: March 9 – 18, 2012; Restaurant and business registration begins now.

MENUS: Participating restaurants can offer special dinners at $18.88. Diners can choose from at least three choices for each course including appetizer, entrée and dessert. Prices and meal periods vary by restaurant and meal period and exclude beverages, tax and gratuity.

New York, NY – February 10, 2012 – Get your chopsticks ready! New York City’s Chinatown will host its own Restaurant Week, from March 9 to18. Participating restaurants will offer a 10-day special prix fixe multi-course dinner at $18.88 per person (tax and gratuity not included).  Participating shops and merchants will offer individual promotions and sales.

The Asian American Restaurant Association* with special guests from the New York State Restaurant Association*, will host an information briefing in English and in Chinese at Lin Sing Association* located at 47-49 Mott Street, 2nd Floor, to answer questions about Chinatown Restaurant Week and to assist with registration.  Current or prospective participants or community supporters are invited to attend.  For those who cannot attend the briefing in person, they can dial (775) 996-3560, enter room number 669137 and press the # key to listen to the information session.

Tony-award winning playwright David Henry Hwang (M. Butterfly) and the cast of his Broadway hit play - one of Time Magazine's Top 10 Best Play of 2011, Chinglish - lent their star power and gave some love to Chinatown Restaurant Week.  Have a look at our first promo video.

The show, Chinglish, ended its Broadway run last night.  Congratulations to the cast, crew, and producer of Chinglish on a fabulous run.

On Thursday, January 12, Chinatown Restaurant Week, presented by Kaimen Company, held its first Chinese language press briefing to introduce the strategy behind Chinatown Restaurant Week and to outline opportunities for restaurants and non-restaurants to participate and community groups to support Chinatown Restaurant Week.
